Hardware Manufacturer XFX has stated that it will be the first to release the factory overclocked versions of the GeForce 8800 video cards. The new range will include two new cards that is: – GeForce 8800 GTX XXX – GeForce 8800 GTS XXX Both the above mentioned cards will have factory overclocked speeds courtesy NVIDIA, which has provided the technology to overclock the cards without the need for any other cooling mechanism. The 8800 GTX XXX model overclocks the core from 575MHz to 630MHz and the memory sees a boost to 2GHz. On the other hand the 8800 GTS XXX model steps up the speed from 500MHz to 550MHz for the core and the memory is enhanced from 1.6 GHz to 1.8GHz. The company commented that they have made some changes in the BIOS to provide the enhanced performance. Other features of the cards remain the same. The XXX series of cards will soon be made available and the price for the GTX model will be $650 and for the GTS model will be $500.
