The company has started to mass produce 1.8-inch Solid State Drives at 64Gb which they claim is the highest achieved by anyone in the world for mobile computing applications.
Samsung stated that the company has seen that the trends are fast changing and mostly all OEMs are putting their bets on SSDs since they have no moving parts are considered for mobile applications. Moreover SSDs are claimed to feature greater reliability, faster boot times and faster application start-up times than HDDs. SSDs also consume less power so if your lappy is equipped with one of these drives then you are sure that you wont require a quick charge.
The 64GB SSD consists of 64 eight Gb single-level cell flash memory chips. Moreover the technology uses 51nm process which permits the integration of much smaller components promising the devices a long future.
The SSD market is fast expanding and so is the demand for much smaller drives, in such a market Samsung’s success is guaranteed.
