The agreement between Microsoft and Novell that I talked about earlier is actually a package of three agreements and according to one of them Microsoft will buy SUSE Linux Certificates from Novell worth $240 million. The two companies have signed three agreements: A Business Collaboration Agreement, a Technical Collaboration Agreement and a Patent Cooperation Agreement. All the three agreements are centered on one main thing that is making virtualization easier. The agreement on Technical collaboration requires both the companies to make sure that their respective OS run as well as the Guest OS. Both the parties have also agreed to make it easy for each OS to control, command and configure the other OS. Microsoft will spend $12 million per year to promote the Microsoft and Linux combination and also $34 Million to develop a sales force for the combined offer.
