Intel to Launch Low Price Q6600 Chip in CES 2007

I earlier told you that Intel’s new products in the quad core range can make their rival AMD slash prices of their processors. Well it has made Intel too launch a low priced quad core chip the Q6600. Intel will be launching this new chip in CES 2007 and the Core 2 Quad Q6600 will cost you somewhere around $850 and the extreme version will cost somewhere around $1K. However I have told you many times that buying a Core 2 Duo 6700 is still a much better option as still we are waiting for some applications and games that can use the multiple cores for better performance and the chip is priced at just $530. I think that would still be a much better buy. But if you still want to buy the Quad Core chip then the Q6600 runs at 2.4GHz and is equipped with 8MB of Level 2 Cache.
