If Americans go by the thoughts and aims of FTTH Council, then they will surely be enjoying 100Mbps broadband connection delivered over fiber within a decade. The FTTH Council is pushing the U.S. government to adopt a 100 Megabit Nation Policy. The council has also stated that they have the technology and the carriers which can easily make this dream come true. The council has recommended extending both private and public sector initiatives for the next-generation broadband to a majority of Americans by 2010 and worldwide by 2015. They also want that the government authorities should act fast on this else they will have to remain content with the sub-10Mbps connections.
