
A new 16-bit RISC MCU, the S1C17701 is now available from Seiko Epson Corp. The new 16 bit RISC MCU includes 16MB of memory space. The new product allows users to enjoy high performance with the same power consumption of 8-bit microcontrollers.
Epson’s new S1C17701 utilizes low power and the circuit size is equivalent to an 8-bit microcontroller. The S1C17701 is a single-chip microcontroller, which is based on-chip Flash ROM and a high resolution DOT matrix LCD driver. The new S1C17701 has following features:
1) Low-power consumption, typically 2.5uA during standby mode
2) The devices operates on high-speed frequency, including 8.2MHz
3) It operates on low-voltage ( 1.8 V)
The S1C17701 is suitable for variety of applications like remote controllers, sports watches and portable healthcare equipment. Epson’s new S1C17701 is equipped with 64 KB of Flash ROM, so it is suitable for software development and evaluation activities.
